GoDaddy has made things much simpler since I wrote this article. You can see a more up-to-date guide on how to set your domain to auto-renew on this page.
Any domain names GiteWise buys on your behalf will run for 12 months. To keep the domain name, you’ll need to renew it at the renewal date. The easy way to do this is to set your domain to renew automatically. Here’s how.
1. Go to Domains in your GoDaddy dashboard
Log in to your GoDaddy account. Click the Manage button in the Domains panel of your GoDaddy dashboard.
2. Go to Card View – it’s easier to work with
If your screen looks something like this, you’re looking at the List View. Click the icon at top right to change to Card View.
3. Click to turn on Auto-renew
You can now see the Auto-renew toggle button for your domain. Click this button to turn on Auto-renew.
Your domain will now be automatically renewed at the next due date. GoDaddy will send you an email to tell you as the date approaches.
